The National Tripartite Committee, comprising representatives from the government, employers, and organised labour, has initiated discussions to determine the 2025 minimum wage.
The negotiations, which began on Monday, February 3, 2025, will be followed by talks on base pay for public sector salaries.
This was announced in a statement issued by Acting Spokesperson to the President, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, reiterating the importance of timely deliberations to meet budgetary requirements.
The process, initially slated for completion by April 2024, is behind schedule, according to the Public Financial Management (PFM) Act.
The government has urged all stakeholders to expedite negotiations to ensure outcomes are factored into the 2025 national budget.
