President John Dramani Mahama has nominated first batch of deputy ministers to serve in various ministries, pending parliamentary approval.
According to a press release signed by Felix Kwakue Ofosu, spokesperson to the president, the nominations was made made in accordance with Articles 78(1) and 79(1) of the Constitution.
Among those nominated are Thomas Nyarko Ampem for the Ministry of Finance, Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi for the Ministry of the Interior, and Ernest Brogya Genfi for the Ministry of Defence. Clement Abas Apaak has been named for the Ministry of Education, while Richard Gyan-Mensah will serve at the Ministry of Energy & Green Transition.
Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini has been nominated for the Ministry of Roads & Highways, with Justice Srem-Sai selected for the Ministry of Justice & Attorney General. Yusif Sulemana will take up a role at the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, and Rita Naa Odoley Sowah is set to serve at the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy & Religious Affairs.
The Ministry of Works, Housing & Water Resources will have Gizella Tettey-Agbotui as deputy minister, with Yussif Issaka Jajah nominated for the Ministry of Tourism, Culture & Creative Arts. John Kofi Setor Dumelo has been appointed to the Ministry of Food & Agriculture, while Samson Ahi will serve at the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness & Industry. Additionally, Lydia Lamisi

These appointments, aimed at strengthening governance and ensuring efficiency across key sectors, will be subject to parliamentary vetting before the nominees can officially assume their roles.
