President John Mahama during his thank you tour in the Central Region of Ghana, on February 6, 2025, underscored the importance of unity and inclusivity, reaffirming his commitment to honoring the region’s significant role in Ghana’s development. He highlighted the Central Region’s substantial contributions to agriculture, tourism, and education, noting its status as an agricultural hub that feeds many across the country. Additionally, he acknowledged its rich history and cultural heritage symbolized by historical forts and castles.
Key commitments made during his address included job creation for young people through a comprehensive 24-hour economy plan designed to enhance production and employment opportunities. This initiative aims to create an enabling environment for businesses in sectors such as agro-processing, manufacturing, and construction by implementing a three-shift system.
President Mahama emphasized infrastructure development across all regions. He prioritized critical projects including schools, healthcare facilities, electrification initiatives, and access to clean drinking water for communities nationwide. Notably mentioned was the ongoing dualization of major roads like the Kasoa-Winneba Road project initiated late last year. Upon completion, this project is expected to facilitate smoother movement of goods and services while boosting trade.
He also assured residents that they will receive their fair share of national resources while emphasizing his role as a president for all Ghanaians. His vision remains focused on building a prosperous, peaceful, and sustainable nation where diversity is celebrated as strength rather than weakness.
