In a bid to combat inequality and promote peaceful coexistence, the Lehim Foundation recently held a transformation program at the Ngmetso Korpe D/A School in the Greater Accra region. The event, which brought together educational, health, and cultural initiatives, is a testament to the foundation’s ongoing commitment to driving positive change in local communities.

The day’s events kicked off with a highly anticipated scholarship award ceremony, where several deserving students were recognized and given the opportunity to pursue their academic dreams. For many, the scholarships provided crucial financial support, enabling them to continue their education and work towards a better future.

Following the ceremony, the Lehim Foundation team engaged students in an enlightening discussion on peaceful coexistence, focusing on building respect and understanding among different religious groups. The session, which included interactive discussions and group activities, helped the students gain a deeper appreciation for diversity and learn how to promote interfaith dialogue within their community.

In addition to its educational outreach, the Lehim Foundation’s health department conducted free health checkups for elderly residents of the community. The medical team offered consultations, screenings, and medication, addressing the often-overlooked healthcare needs of the older population and providing much-needed care to those who may otherwise have gone without.

The program also introduced students to the art of bead-making, offering training and materials to help them develop new skills. This hands-on activity not only fostered creativity and teamwork but also provided students with an entrepreneurial opportunity that could potentially offer long-term financial benefits.

Headteacher Mr. Micheal Quarshie expressed deep appreciation for the foundation’s contributions: “We are grateful for the foundation’s support. Their initiatives have made a tangible difference in the lives of our students and elderly neighbours.

The event was capped off with heartfelt gratitude from the community’s chiefs and elders, who expressed their hope that similar initiatives would be extended to other schools and communities across the region.

The Lehim Foundation continues to make strides in improving the well-being and education of marginalized communities. Through their efforts, they are nurturing a new generation of leaders and changemakers dedicated to building a more peaceful, inclusive, and prosperous society.
