Former Foreign Affairs Minister Alhaji Muhammed Mumuni has been elected to represent the Northern Region on Ghana’s Council of State.
The election, held at the Residency Pavilion, saw Mr. Mumuni secure a decisive victory with 26 votes. His closest contender, Richard Andani Yakubu, received four votes, while Nyande Abdul Raqib garnered two votes. Adam Hussein did not receive any votes.
Out of 32 registered voters, all participated in the election, with no rejected ballots recorded.
The election was officiated by Presiding Officer Lucas Lloyd, who confirmed the results as accurate. Candidate agents signed the official declaration, certifying the outcome.
With this victory, Mr. Mumuni is set to serve as the Northern Region’s representative, providing counsel to the President as part of the advisory Council of State.
