The Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana National Gas Limited (Ghana Gas), Ing. Dr. Robert Kofi Lartey, has outlined his vision for the gas company.
Ing. Dr. Lartey made this known during his first meeting with the management of Ghana Gas and also outlined the company’s role in supporting the 24-hour economy programme through agro-processing, transportation, construction, and manufacturing services.
He also underscored the need to operate and transport gas safely and reliably in line with the vision and mission of Ghana Gas.
“Health, safety, environment, and security matters are already ingrained in our values and organisational culture, and there is a need to further entrench these principles,” he stated.
Ing. Dr. Lartey emphasised the importance of ensuring a constant gas supply to industries such as cocoa processing (agriculture) and gas-powered railways (transportation) to drive the 24-hour economy initiative.
During the meeting, he also stressed the need to accelerate the completion of key projects, such as the LPG Bottling Plant, which will create jobs for Ghanaians and further align with the 24-hour economy vision.
During the 2024 electioneering campaign, the President, Mr. John Dramani Mahama, highlighted the 24-hour economy programme and Ing. Dr. Lartey elaborated on Ghana Gas’ role in realizing this vision for economic sustainability and job creation.
Additionally, he emphasised the importance of enhancing professionalism, productivity, and efficiency among Ghana Gas staff, particularly in technical operations.
He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to maintaining and improving engagements with communities affected by its projects.
Expressing optimism about the diverse expertise and professional background of the management team and staff, he called on all employees to fully support the company’s vision.
