President John Dramani Mahama departed Accra on Wednesday afternoon for the Munich Security Conference in Germany. The President, who will be away from February 12 to February 17, will also attend the African Union (AU) Conference in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Before his departure, the Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Mr. Felix Kwakye Ofosu, announced this at a press briefing at the Jubilee Lounge of the Kotoka International Airport, yesterday February 12, 2025.

He said President Mahama as Chairman of the TANA Forum, a key security think tank focused on African security, would be actively involved in discussions on strategies to enhance safety and stability across the continent.

In the context of a rapidly evolving geopolitical landscape, Mr. Kwakye Ofosu emphasized the importance of African leaders’ voices in security matters.

President Mahama is set to participate in the opening forum of the Munich Security Conference, where he will engage in bilateral talks with global leaders and organizations. These discussions will center on strengthening cooperation between Ghana and other countries, as well as fostering broader international ties.

Additionally, President Mahama will speak at a side event hosted by the Tana Forum, where, as its Chair, he will share his insights and vision on emerging security challenges both in Africa and globally.
