The Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Emelia Arthur, has paid a working visit to the Kpeve Tornu Aquaculture site to evaluate current operations and interact with stakeholders. During her visit, she also inspected the newly introduced Premix Fuel Automation Outlet in the district.

The Fisheries and Aquaculture Minister, accompanied by officials from the Ministry, the Fisheries Commission, and the Premix Secretariat, emphasized the government’s commitment to modernizing the fisheries sector and ensuring transparency in premix fuel distribution.

Madam Emelia Arthur’s tour underscores the Ministry’s dedication to enhancing both aquaculture and fuel distribution within the fisheries sector. Her focus on the Kpeve Tornu Aquaculture site highlights the government’s interest in boosting local aquaculture production, which is a vital component of the NDC’s fisheries policy, providing 60% of Ghanaians’ protein needs.

The inspection of the Premix Fuel Automation Outlet demonstrates a move towards greater transparency and efficiency in the distribution of premix fuel, which is essential for fishermen.

Automating the distribution process can help prevent fuel mismanagement and ensure that it reaches the intended beneficiaries.

These initiatives align with Hon. Arthur’s broader vision for the fisheries and aquaculture sector, which includes sustainable management of resources and the modernization of the fishing industry.
