Black Queens head coach, Kim Lars Bjorkegren, has highlighted the significance of Ghana’s upcoming international friendly against Morocco, emphasising that the match is not only about securing a win but also about fostering team development and preparation for the future.

Bjorkegren expressed confidence in his team’s potential but acknowledged the difficulty of playing away from home. He emphasized that the game is about more than the immediate outcome, focusing instead on learning from mistakes and preparing for larger tournaments, including the summer tournament.

“We’re building for the long term,” Bjorkegren said. “This match, along with the upcoming game against AS FAR Rabat, will give us valuable insights into how far we’ve come and what we need to improve.”

In addition to the match against Morocco, Ghana will face AS FAR Rabat three days later. The series of games is seen as an opportunity for the Black Queens to test their strengths and adapt to different playing styles. Bjorkegren also stressed the importance of giving every player a fair chance to shine, highlighting his commitment to squad rotation.

“We need to balance short-term goals with long-term development,” he added. “By giving all players opportunities to participate, we can uncover hidden talents and build a stronger team for the future.”

The match against Morocco is set to take place at 17:00Hrs on Friday at the Père Jego Stadium in Casablanca. This clash is highly anticipated, not only for its competitive nature but also for the insights it will provide into the progress of Ghana’s women’s football program under Bjorkegren’s leadership.
