The Creative Arts industry in Ghana deserves a more sustainable support system that goes beyond emergency measures, aiming to incentivize and provide long-term relief to industry players.
Speaking on the GTV Breakfast Show, today, February 25, 2025, a Chartered Economist, Mr. Bernard Oduro Takyi referenced Nigeria’s creative industry, for instance, which generates billions of naira and puts the country on the global map, with many Nigerian artists and filmmakers drawing inspiration from Ghanaian creatives.
‘’I urge the current government to consider implementing a comprehensive insurance and pension scheme for the industry. This would not only ensure financial security but also encourage more talented individuals to pursue careers in the arts,’’ he said.
