President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku led the newly assembled technical team of the Black Stars in a courtesy visit to Kofi Adams, the Minister for Sports and Recreation. The purpose of this meeting was to formally introduce the technical team and to seek the Minister’s support as the team prepares for their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup. qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.

During the visit, Kurt Okraku emphasized the importance of the Minister’s blessings and support as they embark on their mission to revitalize the national team’s performance. “We are hopeful of turning around the fortunes of the Black Stars, and we are here to seek your support in this journey,” he stated.

He encouraged a collaborative approach among the technical team, stating that success in the qualifiers is a shared responsibility.
Kofi Adams also assured them of his “open-door policy,” inviting the team to seek assistance whenever needed as they strive for World Cup qualification.

Present at the meeting were head coach Otto Addo, technical director Winfried Schafer, and assistant coach Desmond Ofei, who collectively form the backbone of the team’s strategic direction. Adams took the opportunity to stress that securing Ghana’s participation in the 2026 World Cup is a top priority for the country and requires concerted efforts from all stakeholders.
