The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced a significant step in the Black Queens’ preparation for the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) with a nine-day training tour in Senegal.

Scheduled for the April FIFA international window, the tour represents a crucial phase in the team’s buildup to the continental tournament, which is set to take place in Morocco from July 5 to 26, 2025.

During their time in Senegal, the Black Queens will engage in two friendly matches against Senegal’s Teranga Lionesses in Dakar.

These encounters are expected to provide valuable competitive experience, allowing head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren and his technical team to improve strategies and assess the readiness of the players.

The matches will also serve as an opportunity to test new tactics and strengthen team cohesion ahead of the WAFCON.

This training tour follows a similar initiative in Morocco during the February FIFA window, where the team underwent an intensive camp as part of the GFA’s comprehensive preparation plan.
