Black Stars defender Gideon Mensah has made a heartfelt appeal to Ghanaians to intensify their support as the team gears up for two pivotal World Cup qualifiers.
The Black Stars are set to face Chad on March 21 in Accra, followed by a clash with Madagascar on March 24 in Morocco. These matches are crucial as Ghana aims to secure a spot in the 2026 World Cup, building on their resilience and determination.
Mensah, who proudly represented Ghana at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, expressed his deep gratitude to Ghanaians for their unwavering support over the years.
He emphasised the significance of unity and encouragement from the supporters as the team strives to strengthen their qualification campaign.
“Thank you for your support over the years to the Black Stars. We’ve had great results in our previous games, but we urge everyone to continue supporting us and be a pillar behind us; together we can achieve greatness,” he remarked.
Currently, the Black Stars are in a strong position, sitting second in Group I with nine points. This places them on a promising trajectory to secure a World Cup berth, especially after overcoming a challenging AFCON qualifying campaign.
The significance of these qualifiers extends beyond the football pitch, serving as a beacon of hope and national pride for Ghana.
As Mensah and his teammates prepare for these decisive encounters, the nation holds its breath, hoping for a triumphant outcome that would bring joy and pride to the country.
