The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) President, Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, has commended the success of last year’s African Media Convention (AMC) held in Accra. Speaking at a press conference on March 13, 2025, he described the Accra edition as “the best since the inception of the AMC,” praising its impact on media discourse across Africa.
This year, the fourth AMC will take place in Marrakech, Morocco, from May 29 to 31, 2025. The event will gather media practitioners, policymakers, academics, and stakeholders from across the continent to discuss pressing issues shaping Africa’s media landscape. “We hope Marrakech will build on the remarkable success we achieved in Accra,” Mr. Dwumfour stated.
The Accra convention was lauded for its organization and relevance in addressing critical challenges such as misinformation and media freedom. Mr. Dwumfour encouraged media institutions to actively participate in such international gatherings, emphasizing their importance for fostering collaboration and innovation in the industry.
