Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams, welcomed the leadership of the Ghana Flying Disc Federation (GFDF) to his office on Thursday, March 13, 2025. The meeting, led by GFDF President Mr. Desmond Mantey, aimed to discuss the future of the sport in Ghana. Minister Adams reiterated his commitment to providing equal attention to every sporting discipline in the country, ensuring that all federations receive the necessary support for growth and development.

The Minister’s pledge is a significant boost for the GFDF, which has been working tirelessly to promote the sport in Ghana. The federation has been instrumental in introducing Ultimate Frisbee to the country, with programs aimed at enhancing girls’ participation in sports. The GFDF’s efforts have not gone unnoticed, with the National Sports Authority granting the federation probationary recognition in January 2023.
