The Ghana national team, the Black Stars, will gather in Accra on Monday, March 17, 2025, for a four-day training camp in preparation for their upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The team will face Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, and then travel to Morocco to take on Madagascar in another Group I fixture on Monday, March 24.

The Black Stars’ training sessions on Monday and Tuesday will be open to the public, providing fans with an opportunity to catch a glimpse of their favorite players in action. Head coach Otto Addo has named a 23-man squad for the upcoming matches, which includes three home-based players: Benjamin Asare of Hearts of Oak, Kamaradini Mamudu of Medeama SC and Razak Simpson of Nations FC.

Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Partey, returns to the squad after missing four Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers last year. Other notable inclusions are Kamaldeen Sulemana of Southampton and Jerry Afriyie of CD Lugo. However, the Black Stars have been hit with a major injury crisis, with 12 players currently sidelined due to various injuries.

The injured players include Alidu Seidu, Tariq Lamptey, Brandon Thomas-Asante, Abdul Mumin, Joseph Aidoo, Abdul Manaf Nurudeen, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Baba Iddrisu, Ibrahim Sulemana, Daniel Kofi Kyereh, Majeed Ashimeru and Joseph Paintsil.

Despite the setbacks, Coach Addo will be hoping to lead his team to victory in their upcoming matches and keep their World Cup qualification hopes alive.

The Black Stars’ training camp in Accra will provide the team with a chance to regroup and refocus ahead of their crucial World Cup qualifiers. With a strong squad at his disposal, Coach Addo will be looking to make the most of the training sessions and prepare his team for the challenges ahead.
