The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has cautioned former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta that he will be declared a wanted person once again if he fails to appear for questioning on Monday, June 2, 2025.
This comes in response to a lawsuit filed by Mr. Ofori-Atta against the OSP and its head, Kissi Agyebeng, accusing them of unlawfully declaring him wanted.
The OSP, in a statement, clarified that Mr. Ofori-Atta had personally requested to be removed from its wanted list, assuring authorities that he would present himself for questioning on a set date.
Acting in good faith, the OSP temporarily removed his name but has now stressed that any failure to comply will result in his immediate reinstatement as a fugitive.
In such an event, the OSP has warned that it will issue an Interpol Red Notice for his arrest and initiate extradition proceedings in any jurisdiction where he may be found.
The Special Prosecutor reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring accountability, stating that Mr. Ofori-Atta remains the prime suspect in five ongoing corruption and corruption-related investigations.
