Ghana, Ukraine explore post-war educational and agribusiness partnerships

Ghana and Ukraine are working towards reviving medical scholarship opportunities and broadening their bilateral educational partnership, as Ukraine seeks to strengthen its global ties in the aftermath of the war.

This was revealed during high-level discussions between Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, and his Ukrainian counterpart, Andrii Sybiha, on the sidelines of the Raisina Dialogue in India. The meeting also explored new agribusiness initiatives, with Ukraine seeking to accelerate economic recovery.

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister reaffirmed his country’s commitment to ending the war with Russia in 2025, emphasizing that Ukraine would not stand in the way of a lasting peace.

Meanwhile, Ghana is also deepening its diplomatic engagements with Georgia, as discussions were held with Georgia’s Foreign Minister, Maka Botchorishvili, on the potential establishment of a diplomatic mission in Accra. The talks also focused on new agreements spanning education, agriculture, and tourism.

Mr Ablakwa appreciated the fruitful engagements, highlighting the mutual respect and cooperation shared between Ghana, Ukraine, and Georgia. He reiterated Ghana’s commitment to strengthening its global partnerships for mutual development.
