The Bishop of Sefwi Bekwai Methodist Diocese, Rt. Rev Robert Bassaw, says most Christians in Ghana are of late being influenced by miracles in place of the actual biblical teachings.
He therefore expressed the need to give the right teachings to enable church members to increase in knowledge so as not to be deceived with false miracles to become lost sheep.
Rt. Rev Bassaw made the point at the induction of the Very Rev Solomon Nyantakyi–Adomako as the new Superintendent Minister for the Sefwi Wiawso Circuit at the Bethel Methodist Church at Sefwi Wiawso in the proposed Western North Region. A report by Kwamina Onumah.
Very Rev Nyantakyi-Adomako is the 12th Minister to occupy that position since the Circuit was inaugurated 32 years ago.
Rt Rev Bassaw asked Church leaders to give good food to their flock in order for them not to run away from the pen. According to him, a number of Churches are losing their members due to false teachings given by some pastors serving as shepherds.
Rt. Rev Bassaw advised the new Superintendent Minister to take good care of the members especially the children who are future potential leaders.
In his response, Very Rev. Nyantakyi–Adomako thanked the Church for his elevation and called on the congregation, especially the leaders to help him fulfill his dreams to enhance the growth of Methodist Church in the Circuit and the nation as well.
