The National Media Commission (NMC) says the new protocol by the Police Service for journalists not to take pictures of people at close range at accident scenes does not put any restrictions on the work of the media.

Chairman of the National Media Commission, Yaw Boadu Ayeboafo said journalists rather commit contempt of court when they take pictures at accident scenes at close range.

He however said the Police Service cannot ban journalists but rather advise them. He commended the Police for the provision of security for journalists in their line of duty.
