The Head of Communications for Zylofon Media, Sammy Atuobi Baah, popularly known as Sammy Flex, has disclosed that the outfit, which has Zylofon FM and Zylofon TV as subsidiaries, will resume operations very soon.
All subsidiaries under Zylofon Media have since January 30,2019 suspended operations in compliance with a directive by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
The directive concerns the troubles that Zylofon’s sister company, Menzgold, is experiencing, which has led to its CEO, Nana Appiah Mensah also known as NAM1, being declared wanted in Ghana. He is currently facing trial in Dubai for another case.
Sammy Flex told Showbiz on Tuesday, February 12 that Zylofon Media had not shut down for good like people were speculating.
“We were told to suspend operations for a while and resume later and as we speak now, the road is clear to start operations soon. Very soon we will start work and continue the good work that Ghanaians know us for,” he stated.
He also stated that the suspension of operations was in the best interest of Zylofon Media.
“The heat surrounding Menzgold and the attacks on one or two staff demanded that Zylofon Media suspend its operations and allow things to cool down. It was the right decision, especially for the safety of the entire staff,” he said.
Sammy Flex was disappointed that there were people out there who were wishing for the company’s downfall, saying Nana Appiah Mensah had done something great.
“It’s a shame some people are rejoicing about what is happening instead of wishing for the best for us. Zylofon Media has done marvelously well within its two years of operation; from signing on artistes and giving them mouth-watering contracts to the Zylofon Fund which provided funds to movie producers to work with.
“I think NAM1 should be applauded for his good works instead of what is being said about him. I don’t think Ghanaians have considered the number of people working at Zylofon Media who will be unemployed should we close down for good,” he said.
Sammy Flex used the opportunity to thank players in the showbiz industry who had supported them.
“I want to use this opportunity to thank a few individuals who kept calling and giving us hope that all is well. We are bouncing back big time,” Sammy said.
