On February 21, President Akufo-Addo is expected to deliver his third State of the Nations Address (SONA), to Ghanaians who are expecting him to touch on a myriad of issues affecting their daily lives.

Pensioners and Public Sector Workers are also expecting that they are well paid and on time, each month.

GBC’s Radio Ghana spoke to a labour Consultant Seth Abloso who called on the President to review downwards income tax levels and completely remove over time tax and introduce new tax schedule for over time tax, to boost workers’ salaries.

He said if government sincerely fights high corruption cases, the pensioner and public sector workers would have enough in their packets. Mr Abloso also asked government to stop SSNIT from funding other projects other than projects in the interest of workers and pensioners and deal with corrupt cases on hand.

Meanwhile, maintenance of security and creation of jobs are among the top issues occupying the minds of people of the Upper West Region as the President presents the State of the Nation Address on Thursday.

Some of the residents who spoke with GBC’s Radio Ghana said they expect the President to touch on job opportunities for the youth after NABCO and how their security can be guaranteed during the 2020 general elections.
