The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Tamale Teaching Hospital, Dr. David Kolbila, who was chased out of his office by some irate youth has been re-instated.
This follows the intervention of the Regional Security Council (REGSEC) led by the Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed, when he visited the facility this morning to restore law and order.
Some irate youth stormed the Tamale Teaching Hospital, chased the CEO out and locked up his office.
The men numbering about ten alleged that he has been involved in some corrupt practices and misuse of hospital funds.
The Regional Minister who doubles as the chairman of the REGSEC, condemned the act and said REGSEC is taking the matter seriously and will bring the culprits to book.
He also promised to beef up security at the Hospital to prevent the perennial disturbances caused by some irate groups.
The CEO of the Hospital, Dr. David Kolbila for his part commended REGSEC for the swift intervention.
He said the Tamale Teaching Hospital is a human institution and a security zone and therefore the health of patients and people who visit the facility cannot be trampled upon.
Calm has since returned to the hospital.
The Northern Regional Police Command has commenced investigations to identify and bring to book the perpetrators of the act.
