Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, is set to honour an invitation from the police today (March 4) over the recently leaked audio where he is allegedly heard conspiring with party members to harm political opponents and calling for verbal attacks on some personalities.
Mr Ofosu Ampofo failed to show up last week after he was invited by the police to answer questions on the matter.
The NDC has insisted the audio had been doctored with former President Mahama over the weekend defending it.
In a seeming confirmation of the authenticity of parts of the leaked recording, former President John Mahama said the party’s chairman did not incite violence towards the Peace Council Chair. Rather, Mr. Ofosu Ampofo called for NDC supporters to criticize Prof. Asante.
