The Ghana Museums and Monuments Board has dismissed claims that the Osu Castle is a security zone.
According to the board, the facility is instead a museum after its new status was announced by President Akufo- Addo in 2017.
The Board said the former seat of government currently has the same status as any other castle in the country.
In a statement signed by the Acting Executive Director, Kingsley Ntiamoah, it said the Military and security sensitivities associated with the Osu castle was withdrawn after President Akufo- Addo’s declaration of the facility as a Presidential Museum of Leadership and Governance.
It added that visitors, tourists and the public are allowed to visit as and when they please.
