President Akufo-Addo has charged the reconstituted Governing Board of the National Population Council to help ensure reduction in the growth rate target from 2.2% to 1.5%.
The Council is also tasked to achieve an increase in the use of contraceptives from the current 25% to 50%.
The President said this when he swore into office a 23-member Governing Board of the National Population Council.
The Council, chaired by a former Deputy Minister of Health, Gladys Ashitey is mandated to bring down the rate of teenage pregnancies to help realize the demographic dividends.
