The University Teacher’s Association of Ghana (UTAG), has called for the immediate resignation of the Vice Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba, Professor Anthony Afful-Broni, and swift investigations to be conducted by the CHRAJ into the conflict of interest levelled against Professor Emmanuel Abakah.

UTAG accused both Professors of instigating the recent developments at the University of Education and a tyrannical as well as intolerant management behaviour.

At a news Conference addressed by the National President, Dr. Eric Opoku Mensah, UTAG condemned what it said is an abuse of power by the Chairman of the University’s Governing Council and questioned his legitimacy as a Professor.

The Union also accused Professor Abakah of changing the statutes in the University’s Constitution to suit himself and called for a full scale investigation into his conduct on the Council.

UTAG strongly demands that, Dr. Frimpong Kaakyire Duku and all other staff who have been dismissed be reinstated without delay.
