The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tempane, Joseph Kpemka, has appealed for financial support for the injured persons and bereaved families of the Kintampo road accident.
According to him, some of the injured persons who were still on admission at Kintampo and Techiman hospitals and would require additional treatment in Accra and elsewhere.
Mr Kpemka, who is also the Deputy Minister for Justice and Attorney General made the appeal during an interview with the Media at Parliament House in Accra.
Early, last Friday (March 23) a deadly accident that occurred at Ampomakrom in the Kintampo South constituency of the Bono East Region as a result of a head-on collision between two passenger buses, claimed 57 lives.
Mr Kpemka therefore appealed to benevolent organisations and Non-governmental Organisations with the means to assist the injured persons and bereaved families to organise funerals for their departed relatives.
He explained that about 53 persons who perished in the Kintampo road accident were from Garu and Tempane Constituencies in the Upper Easter region.
He said the MP for Garu, Mr Albert Akuka Alalzuuga was already in his constituency and that he would join him there on Thursday to sympathise with the bereaved families.
Mr Kpemka also stated that his focus now was to galvanise financial support for the injured persons and bereaved families adding that some of the victims of the accident also left behind dependents that had to be taken off.
