Bawku: Renewed chieftaincy conflict in Zoaga claims eight lives

There has been renewed chieftaincy conflict in Zoaga a community in Burkina Faso near  Zebila in the Bawku west district which has claimed eight lives leaving four others in critical condition.

According to reports, hundreds of people have been displaced while shops and other properties have been razed down.

There have been simmering tension between Ghana and Burkina Faso following the chieftaincy conflict at Zoaga.

The tension  is because of  refugees from Zoaga, Burkina Faso staying at Widnaba and Tilli two communities in the Bawku West District.

According to information gathered from Zoaga, both the community members and the authorities in charge believed the displaced people seeking Asylum in Ghana are behind the attacks.
