The Acting Executive Secretary of the National Peace Council (NPC), George Amoh has said the issue of vigilantism is a real threat to Ghana’s democracy.
Speaking on GBC’s Uniiq FM’s current program, ‘FOCUS’, Mr Amoh Commended the two major political parties for their commitment in the attempt to curb political vigilantism.
According to the 3rd Vice Chairman of New Patriotic Party (NPP), Micheal Omari- Wadie, the The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is committed to the cause of bounding political vigilantism.
He added that no country in the world can develop without peace.
The Deputy Chairman in Charge of Operations for the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Samuel Asare Kuamaoah said there is the need to tone down political involvement in the fight against vigilantism since to him it is a real threat that can denial Ghanaian of their livelihood.
He also advised that both political parties should reduce partisanship positions and allow the processes to work objectively.
Meanwhile, the Member of parliament for Tamale North, Alhassan Suhuyini, also noted that Ghanaians deserve better and that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is ready to stop political vigilantism.
