The leadership of Unemployed Nurses and Midwives across the country have given government a ten day ultimatum to post them or face a nationwide demonstration by members in six regional capitals by September 5.
More than 32,000 unemployed nurses and midwives have since last year (2017) been picketing at the Ministry of Health over the inability of government to give financial clearance for them to be employed.
The Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyemang Manu, is on record to have promised and given the unemployed nurses and midwives the assurance that the Ministry has received financial clearance and will be employed by the end of July.
However August is almost ending and there seems to be no end in sight.
National Vice Organizer of the Coalition of the 2016 Unemployed Public Nurses and Midwives, Bilekmiah Moses Liman in an interview with GBC’s Radio Ghana said they feel they have been betrayed and government has no plans to post them.
