A large number of Muslims in the Aowin Municipality of the Western Region, on Tuesday converged at the Nuru Islam mosque in Enchi to offer special prayers to Allah in commemoration of the Eid-ul-Adha festival.
Leading the Muslims to pray, Alhaji Suleman Suala, Imam in-charge of the mosque asked them to use the occasion to reflect on their social life and promote unity in their communities and advised Muslims to share with the poor and their neighbours during the feast.
He wished all Muslims the best and prayed for Allah’s blessing.
Alhaji Suala further called on Ghanaians to live together in harmony for the progress of the nation.
Mr Mathias Kwame Ntow, Member of Parliament (MP) for Aowin
constituency asked the youth to be law-abiding and eschew all forms of social vices and entreated the youth to celebrate the day in modesty to avoid deaths through reckless celebrations.
The MP also donated undisclosed amount of money to the Muslims.
Superintendent of Police Raymond Kofi Erzuah, District Police Commander of Enchi urged motor riders in the Municipality to be cautious to prevent road accidents.
The celebration of Eid-ul-Adha which is the feast of sacrifice is a special event for Muslims in the country and across the globe and is marked with the sacrifice of an animal, usually a goat, sheep, or cow,and the distribution of the meat among neighbours, family members, andthe poor.
