The Central Regional House of Chiefs has appealed to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to revive dormant factories in the region.
It said there are several factories in the Central Region are in a deplorable state which need the urgent attention of government.
Prominent among them are the Pozzolana Cement Manufacturing Company located at Gomoa Mprumem, the Komenda Sugar Factory and the Lime Factory in Asebu Traditional Area.
President of the Central Regional House of Chiefs, Obrempong Nyanful Krampah made an the appeal when he led a delegation of Chiefs to pay a courtesy call on President Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House.
The visit by the ten member delegation of Chiefs from the Central regional House of Chiefs was to the first since President Akufo-Addo was to give their backing to the work of the president.
The President of the House of Chiefs mentioned implementation of the free SHS,you restoration of nurses and teacher trainees allowances, one district one factory among others.
He was hopeful these policies will go a long way to reduce poverty in the region.
He said there are more mineral deposits when taped into it will create wealth and job opportunities for the youth.
He however, appealed to the president to address the poor road infrastructure in the region. President Akufo-Addo assured the delegation that he administration will give their requests the necessary attention.
