The Ghana Federation of Allied Health Professions has suspended its sit down strike with immediate effect.

This follows series of meetings held by the leadership with officials of the Ministry of Health and the Ghana Health Service to address their concerns.

The Health professionals went on strike to press home their demands for the immediate constitution of the Allied Health Board which has not been in place in the last two years.

They also want an amendment of the Ghana Health Service and Teaching Hospital Bill 2019 to allow them to have a representative on the Board of Hospitals, particularly Korle Bu.

A statement co-signed by the Chief Director of the Ministry of Health and the Chairman of the Council of Ghana Federation of Allied Health Professions, Dr Ignatius Awinibuno, said some agreements have been reached between the two parties.

According to them, the list of nominees for the Allied Health Board submitted by the Federation has been approved by the sub-committee of the Council of State.

Also a decision was made to organise a meeting with  leadership of the Parliamentary Committee on Health, President of the Federation and the Minister of Health to discuss the matter.
