A ten-day-training workshop for district and regional officers of the Ghana Education Service (GES) on the new Standards Based Curriculum is underway across the Country. That’s according to a statement issued in Accra on Wednesday, June 19, 2019.
Speaking at the opening session held at the Koforidua Technical University, the Deputy Director General of GES, Dr. Kwabena Bempah Tandoh asked the teachers to fully commit themselves to the training so as to become trainers of trainees.
According to the statement which was issued and signed by Head of Public Relations of the Service, Cassandra Twum Ampofo, Dr. Tandoh said beyond the trainings, there would be an establishment for Professional Learning Communities to further grant teachers the opportunities to meet and discuss issues on the new curriculum, the statement said.
“That will be in addition to the regular in-service trainings that will occur frequently to appraise teachers on new developments on the curriculum,” the statement cited Dr Tandoh as saying.
Participants expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to be upgraded. The statement concluded.
