Benin will square off with Guinea-Bissau in their second 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) Group F match at the Ismailia Stadium in Egypt on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 10:00 pm CAT.

The Squirrels frustrated the Black Stars of Ghana in their first match in the group stage which ended in a 2-2 draw on Tuesday.

Adana Demirspor forward Mickael Pote hit the back of the net twice for the Squirrels and Benin are placed second on the Group F standings.

Benin head coach Michel Dussuyer has urged his charges to concentrate ahead of their clash with a wounded Guinea-Bissau side.

“We have to concentrate, it will be a difficult game against Guinea Bissau,” Dussuyer said.

“We don’t have to underrate this team and we will have to work hard to win this game.”

Pote, who is among the top goalscorers in the tournament with two goals, will be looking to add to his tally and help side overcome the African Wild Dogs.

Meanwhile, Guinea-Bissau started their group stage campaign with a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Cameroon in a game which was also played on Tuesday.

Real Valladolid midfielder Moctar Sidi El Hacen scored what proved to be the African Wild Dogs’ consolation goal and they are placed fourth on the Group F standings.

Guinea-Bissau head coach Baciro Cande says they will stick to their style of play when they take on a confident Benin side.

“We are not going to change our identity. We are going to try to play our game,” Cande said.

“If they let us, we will try to play it. Our main task is to qualify for the knockout stages.”

Guinea-Bissau’s star player El Hacen has opened his scoring account at the 2019 Afcon finals and he will be keen to inspire his nation to victory against the Squirrels.

In Head-to-Head stats, Benin and Guinea-Bissau have clashed on one occasion and the encounter was won by the African Wild Dogs.
