GBC maintains no channel has been sold out

Management of Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), has again refuted suggestions that the Corporation is being offered for sale.

In an interview with GBC’s George Asekere, the Acting Director-General, Augustus Yamson and the Director of Legal Service, Kwame Waja, explained that GBC has entered into strategic partnership with KBL, the Company that runs Metro TV for the operation of an Akan channel.

They further explained that no worker of GBC will be affected by the Memorandum of Understanding signed, adding that the partnership will ensure that GBC enhances its finances for smooth operations.

The two management personnel explained that the transaction is informed by GBC’s five year strategic plan and the partnership will be in force for ten years.
