Ghana’s President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed disappointment over the exit of the National team, Black Stars from AFCON 2019.
The Black Stars were beaten by Tunisia 5 goals to 4 in a penalty shootout after a 1 all draw.
After the full 90 minutes, the two sides went into a 30 minute extra time which failed to produce a different result after the 1-1 draw, culminating in the penalty shootout which eventually saw Ghana’s exit from the tournament.
In a tweeted message, President Akufo-Addo expressed his confidence in the Black Stars and hopeful that the team will bounce back even stronger, and make Ghanaians proud again.
“Like most Ghanaians, I am gutted by the exit of the Black Stars at AFCON 2019. I wish the team better luck next time. I am confident they will bounce back even stronger, and make all of us proud once again.” That’s according to President Akufo-Addo in a tweet.
