Senior Minister Yaw Osafo-Marfo has reiterated the need for Ghanaians to protect the environment and water bodies.
He said galamsey attained national prominence because people kept polluting water resources.
He noted that without the decisive policy response through Operation Vanguard, the work of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on illegal mining and the Multisectoral Mining Integrated project, all major water bodies would have been destroyed.
Mr. Osafo-Marfo was speaking at the launch of a book by Dr Leticia Obeng in Accra. The book is entitled Anthology Of A Life Time.
