The National Population Council has identified drama and cultural display as a strategic tool for the dissemination of issues on population growth and reproductive health rights.
Executive Director of the Council, Dr Leticia Appiah, said her organisation intends to use story telling through drama to ensure that reproductive health rights and population growth issues are understood by the citizenry.
Dr Appiah made these comments when the National Population Council organised a drama in Accra to climax World Population day.
The use of drama was included in the celebration of World Population Day for the first time in its history.
Staff of the National Population Council were joined by a number of volunteers for the display titled “Not just numbers but numbers with purpose”.
The drama was about a woman who was depending on the MP of her area to provide her with financial assistance to take care of her children because she and others voted for him.
Executive Director of the National Population Council, Dr Leticia Appiah called on donor agencies to support the work of the Council.
