The Upper East Regional Minister, Paulina Abayage, says two Senior High Schools(SHS) in the Upper East Region will remain closed for at least two more weeks pending investigations after students unrest.

This came up after she held a crisis meeting with heads of second cycle schools in the Region today.

The Minister was worried about the incessant rioting in some second cycle intuitions in the Upper East Region.

Sandema Senior High Technical School was closed down last week after a section of the students rioted, alleging bullying from the school’s cadet corps.

Barely a week ago, another unrest broke out at Kongo Senior High.

The disturbances resulted from a disagreement between students of two ethnic groups in the school.
