2019 African Games: Senegal pip Ghana 1-0

Ghana’s U-20 side suffered a 0-1 defeat against their Senegalese counterparts in their second group game of the ongoing Africa Games at the Stade Municipale in Rabat, Morocco.

The Les Lions de la Teranga (Young Lions of Teranga) scored very early in the game through Ibrahima Drame header to unsettle the Black Satellites who came into the game very confident after beating Burundi 2-0 in the first group match.

As the game progressed,the Black Satellite intensified their willingness to equalise by throwing their arsenals from every part of the pitch towards the Senegalese goalkeeper.The goalkeeper however stood tall on many occasions and denied coach Yaw Preko’s men

Just on the brink of half time, Ghana’s striker Awudu Tahiru missed a fine opportunity to draw level with the Senegalese.

The Black Satellites became more dangerous in the dying embers of the game in search of the equaliser; however, it was to no avail.

The Black Satellite would have to play a “do or die” game against Mali on Saturday, August 24, If they fail to win they will face elimination.
