The Ghana Education Service, (GES), has temporarily suspended the self-placement Module.

This action, they say is to enable them update the list of schools and programs available on the module. This is expected to last until September 12, 2019.

A statement signed by Cassandra Twum Ampofo, head of Public Relations at GES, said: “Management of Ghana Education Service wishes to announce to students, parents and the general public that the self-placement Module of the School Placement Platform has been temporarily closed down. This is to enable GES update the list of schools and programs available on the module. This module is expected to come live again on Thursday 12th September 2019.”

The service added that “all the other modules on the school placement platform are live and actively working. Student, parents and the general public should therefore continue to access their placement.

Management of GES wishes to sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused to students, parents and the general public who wish to access the self-placement module.”

2019 placement

The Ghana Education Service (GES) says it has successfully placed 351,022 qualified candidates who sat for the 2019 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) to 721 public and private Senior High Schools across the country.

The figure represents 74.01 percent of the total 473,728 qualified candidates who were due for placement for the 2019/2020 academic year.

This was revealed by a staff at the Public Relations Department of the Ghana Education Service,  (GES), David Banamini, during an interview in Accra on Monday.

Out of the total number of candidates successfully placed, he said 257,966 were pupils from the Public Junior High Schools, 92,404 candidates were from the Private JHS, whilst 652 were candidates who sat for the exams as private candidates.
