The Bono Regional Police Command has arrested eight suspected criminals in Sunyani, the Bono Regional capital.
According to the Police, the eight, including two women were arrested at different locations in the Sunyani Municipality.
Briefing the Media in Sunyani, the Bono Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent Augustine Kingsley Oppong said, on July 27, 2019 about 8:30pm Yaa Aakyewaa a seamstress was attacked and robbed of her hand bag containing one Itel mobile phone valued at 3,000 cedis and cash of 1,000 cedis by one of the suspects Adramani Adamu aged 23, who was on a motorbike together with two other accomplices.
He said, during the attack, the victim screamed for help and the driver of a vehicle with registration number withheld responded by knocking down the motorbike, facilitating the arrest of Adamu in the process.
Spt. Oppong said during interrogation, Adamu mentioned his accomplices as Fatau Karim 26, Godwin Amakye alias taller 20 and Kwaku Nsor 26.
Spt. Oppong continued that further investigations led to more arrests. Supt Oppong assured the public, that the police will not relent in curbing the activities of criminals. He further cautioned the public to be vigilant especially at night.
