The Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament has entreated all Members of Parliament to brace themselves up for the task ahead during this third meeting of third session of the seventh Parliament of the fourth republic of Ghana.
According to him, it is anticipated that business of this meeting would be quite demanding.
In his statement to welcome Members to last meeting for the year ending December 31, 2019, Professor Aaron Micheal Ocquaye said “as you are already aware, by our Constitutional arrangement, the House is enjoined to consider, debate and approve the Budget Statement and Financial Policy of Government during the Third Meeting.
Consideration and approval of the National Budget also entails the approval of the Annual Estimates of the all Ministries, Departments, Agencies, Independent Governance Institutions and other State Institutions that draw on the Consolidated Fund”.
The process eventuatty culminates in the passing of the Appropriation Act to enable the wheels of Government to run in the ensuing year, he submitted.
The Speaker has maintained that, “it is significant to note that the paucity of time for this Meeting notwithstanding, this House would be required to consider the following Bills and instruments amongst several other items of business”:

2. Judicial Service Bill, 2019
3. Affirmative Action Bill, 2019
4. Conduct of Public Officers Bill, 2018
5. Ghana Fertilizers Development Authority Bill, 2019
6. Ghana Fertilizers Company Limited Bill, 2019
7. Pre-Tertiary Education Bill, 2019
8. Education Regulatory Bodies Bill, 2019
9. The two Constitution (Amendment) Bills, 2019
10. Tree Crop Development Bill, 2019
11. Petroleum Exploration and Production
(Amendment) Bill, 2019
12. Office of the Special Prosecutor (Amendment) Biti 2019.
During this meeting The House will also consider the following instrument:
