The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially unveiled the match schedule for the highly anticipated Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025, which will take place in Morocco. With nine venues across six cities, the tournament promises to be a thrilling showcase of African football talent. The competition is set to kick off on December 21, 2025, with the host nation facing Comoros in the opening match at the state-of-the-art Complexe Sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah in Rabat.
Rabat will play a pivotal role in the tournament, featuring four match venues that will host multiple games throughout the event. In addition to Rabat, other cities such as Casablanca, Agadir, Marrakech, Fes, and Tangier will also welcome teams and fans, creating an unforgettable atmosphere. The quarter-finals are scheduled to take place in Rabat, Tangier, Marrakech, and Agadir, while the semi-finals will be held in Rabat and Tangier, further emphasizing the importance of these cities in the tournament.
The excitement doesn’t end with the semi-finals; fans can look forward to the third-place playoff, which will be contested at the iconic Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca. In total, the tournament will feature 52 matches over a span of 29 days, ensuring a month filled with thrilling football action and memorable moments for supporters across the continent.
This edition of AFCON marks a significant milestone for Morocco, as it is hosting the tournament for the first time since 1988. The country is not only preparing for AFCON but is also gearing up to co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup, showcasing its commitment to elevating its status as a prominent player in the world of international football.
