Slut Boy Billy calls out MMDAs for failing to ensure environmental and safety standards

By: Franklin ASARE-DONKOH

A Ghanaian rising musician, known in showbiz circles as Slut Boy Billy, has blamed the various Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) for their apparent failure to uphold and maintain environmental and safety regulation standards.

Slut Boy Billy who is gradually carving a niche for himself through his thought-provoking lyrics, took to his Facebook page to vent his frustration and lambasted the leadership of the various MMDAs for allowing various malpractices to fester on, citing issues ranging from the presence of stray animals on the streets to the lack of adherence to environmental and safety standards.

In the scathing post, Slut Boy Billy highlighted his dismay at the proliferation of stray animals like chickens, sheep, goats, and cows wandering freely across some principal streets of the country’s capital.

He also pointed out concerns regarding the unregulated sale of food at traffic lights, a practice that poses severe health risks, and the unfinished roadways and buildings that contribute to safety hazards.

When probed further in an interview with GBCGHANAONLINE about the motive behind his post, Slut Boy Billy explained that he is getting frustrated day-in-day-out with the systemic lack of accountability which he says is prevalent across various sectors in the country.

He questioned the absence of modern environmental standards, the unsafe operations of public transportation, the irony of paying for roadworthy stickers on incomplete roads, and the absence of visible economic development despite significant loans obtained by the country.

According to Slut Boy Billy, his critique is not from a distance, emphasizing that his concerns were rooted in personal experiences as a citizen and resident of Ghana, urging for an end to corruption, poor management of natural resources.

He is, therefore, advocating for a reconsideration of the leadership to facilitate genuine and visible change in the nation’s fate.

This public outcry by Slut Boy Billy brings attention to the pressing need for improved standards across various sectors in Ghana and advocates for a more accountable and transformational leadership to steer the country toward a better future, economically and environmentally.

Regarding his future music endeavors, Slut Boy Billy hinted at the possibility of surprising his audience with an upcoming album.

He encouraged fans to follow him on various streaming platforms, including BoomPlay, Audiomack, and Spotify, where they can explore his existing singles such as “Refuse to Lose” featuring Deerill Alldae and “How Could You.”

Read Slut Boy Billy’s post below:

“The Metropolitan Assemblies in Ghana are a complete embarrassment to the country. I sometimes wonder how they sit aloof and allowil numerous malpractices to go on unpunished.  Most of the metropolitan assemblies in can sit down and allow stray animals like chickens, sheep, goats, and cows to roam the principal streets of various cities.

Also, they act nonchalant and allow environmental standard practice rules to be disrespected by allowing random people to sell food at various traffic lights stops which is clearly unsafe in so many ways. Sometimes it becomes frustratinng when you are even trying to drive a certain places.

I believe it is high time they various Metropolitan Assemblies will sit up and do an introspection to get the right things done by urging the government to fix deplorable roads and make Ghana work again.”
