The Ghanaian Times wonders about Ghana’s preparedness for an earthquake. The Ghana Geological Survey Authority after Wednesday’s 4.2 magnitude earth tremors, warned that the intensity of the movements indicates that an earthquake is eminent in the country soon. The Times however believes the lack of plans to manage earthquakes in Ghana could pose serious danger to the people. The Paper, therefore, urges the relevant authorities to begin to initiate mitigating measures and educate the public on the dos and don’ts when earthquakes strike.

The Daily Graphic calls for pragmatic steps to win the fight against narcotics. It says marijuana has been identified as a narcotic drug largely abused among the youth. But opoids such as tramadol and codeine have also become an emerging disturbing phenomenon. The Times believes Ghana must take advantage of this year’s International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking today to take further steps at overcoming factors that have contributed to the use and trafficking of drugs.
