The plot of the $10m Obrafuor – Drake suit has taken a new twist as Mantse Aryeequaye, who voiced the “killer cut” chant on ‘oye one remix’ has claimed copyright to the sampled sound.

According to Mr. Aryeequaye, legendary rapper, Obrafuor has no right to make any demands or sole compensation without his permission.

“Hello @Drake  the intellectual property more specifically the ‘killer cut’ sound which was sampled in your song “Calling my name” belongs to me, Mantse Aryeequaye, and not @Iam Obrafuo”, he said in a tweet.

Veteran rapper Obrafuor reportedly sued Canadian rapper Drake for sampling his 2003 hit song.

In a document presented to a court in New York, Obrafuor stated that Drake infringed on his copyright when he sampled his song without his permission.

However, Mr. Aryeequaye indicated that he is ready to smoke the peace pipe with  Obrafuor.
“We can revert to what I suggested last year and keep it moving”, he said.
