The next Kaakye Lake Carnival, a lake cruising event at Kete-Krachi popularly known as ‘paapping’ comes off on December 29, 2018.
Although the event is mainly dominated by local tourism lovers, it is fast gaining the attraction of foreign tourists who are already booking their space onboard the Lake Carnival vessel.
The Lake Carnival which is scheduled for Saturday, December 29 this year would start from Kete-Krachi lakeside by getting onboard the Volta Lake Transport Company’s Vessel; ‘MV’ “Freedom and Justice” to cruise tourism lovers across river Volta and Sene to land at Okpalama Island amid, revelry.
At Okpalama, the island people who are already eagerly preparing would welcome the merrymakers with Kpalogo drumming and dancing as well as feasting.
GBC’s Kaakye FM 95.5MHz is a major sponsor of the Kaakye Lake Carnival. Alfred Hughes is the District Director of GBC at Kete-Krachi.
The organisers said there has been a lot of improvement in the organization of this year’s event.
